Ok, I started off in someone else's thread a few weeks ago. I tried this a few years ago and got little interaction with the crowd here. I'm gonna try it again without any expectations of interaction. It is something I enjoy and if no one else is interested they can just skip it. My postings will probably be mood intensive for me. Each song in most of my posts will be along the same theme ~ soft rock, 80's rock, hard rock, happy music, sad music, etc...

Anyone else, Everyone else is welcome to join in. I only ask to keep the song list per day to be no more than around 5 songs, any more and it gets hard to listen to them all. It would be nice to follow (at least loosely) the following format. Include any warnings of nudity or explicit lyrics after the description/title of the song. I'll start out. I'm in kind of an eclectic mood today so my songs are... kinda across the country/blues/rock spectrum.

Beverly Hill billies theme song. No description necessary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HExX4sU6pgE

Soggy bottom boys. Bluegrass blues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDDEqgmGIVg

Johnny Cash. Blues Country, His last recorded/released song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AHCfZTRGiI

4 Non Blonds. Indie/blues'ish flavored hard'ish rock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NXnxTNIWkc

The Cranberries. Vocal med hard rock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ejga4kJUts

There are so many songs I want to include... It's hard to stop at 5. I love music and want to share my passion, but I know not many will listen to these songs as you all have your own playlists and favorites.

Dang it`, I found a great song while listening to the Cranberries album "No need to argue" on my Amazon Echoes so I'm adding a song over my 5 limit.

The Cranberries - Zombie (Camel's Hump Mix) Techno remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ6Ipsj2OoE

:clapping:  Good stuff!!!

for reasons unknown (not like I watch it ever or anything) this one came up again at the top of my list... Seagulls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9t-slLl30E followed closely by Cranberries - Zombie.  Guess it was a sign.

Starting off with hard rock Easy going music today then skipping across some genres. Deleted my first song even though I like it. I discovered it is a cover song for a Metalica album song I hate and have issues with. It is a Mongolian translation so it was hard to recognize.

Banco de Gaia - Farewell Ferengistan. Easy going meditative music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHkDTtQ8yYs

Queensryche - Silent Lucidity. Soft rock from a hard rock band: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhat-xUQ6dw

Steve Earle - Copperhead Road. Country flavored rock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvaEJzoaYZk

Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe. Rock flavored country redneck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOYZaiDZ7BM

Kansas - Dust in the wind. Soft rock?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH2w6Oxx0kQ

THERE, I stuck with my 5. That wasn't easy.

Crazy Town - Butterfly. Pop'ish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FEDrU85FLE

My theme song. Gnarls Barkley - Crazy. Pop'ish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N4jf6rtyuw

Tracy Chapman - Fast Car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIOAlaACuv4&

The '90s weren't so bad. At least not for me. My first decade in the navy, it was still fun for me. At least I didn't add grunge.  ::sunshine:: But I can't promise I won't' in the future.  :emobadmod:

Feeling better today, but I just got up an hour ago, and the pain hasn't set in much. Trying to stay positive with my music today. As far as the classification for the genres ~ it is hard to classify most modern music for me. A lot of songs I just toss into the Pop or Pop'ish category.

Justin Bieber Sorry. I'm not a Bieber fan, but it is what it is heard it on Amazon and said Hmm. Pop'ish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvPsJFRGleA

AJR - BANG!: Pop'ish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4THFRpw68oQ

Pharrell Williams - Happy. Pop'ish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbZSe6N_BXs

Daft Punk - Get Lucky. Pop'ish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NV6Rdv1a3I

Sia - Cheap Thrills. Pop'ish. I had to substitute my song choice by this artist. My original song has a 13'ish young lady jumping/dancing around in a flesh-colored leotard and I just feel a little creepy watching it. She is doing the same thing in this vid, but it is not as bad. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31crA53Dgu0

I just found a new useful skill for Alexa ~ you can link your Spotify acct (mine is a free acct) and play your Spotify music (Song, list, or artist-based radio) on your Alexa devices. I've known about this for a while, but didn't realize how nice it is. Now you can basically (soft) import your Spotify list to Alexa. You can manage what is playing and the volume from Your web browser (or desktop app). This is cool because if you have a song in your Spotify list you can just play it directly from your list. I've spent years making my Spotify lists. Now I can play the songs directly on my Echoes.

"Alexa play on Spotify "Stranglehold by Ted Nugent" = random songs asked for in generated playlist "Radio" based on the artist. So far the "radio" is pretty good at picking songs I like.

"Alexa play "Liked from Radio" on Spotify (One of my playlists on my Spotify acct) " = random song from the playlist.

Clicking on a song in Spotify (browser or app) with the output directed to your Echo devices plays the song of choice on those devices. Then works its way down the playlist. You can select the Echo devices on the lower right part of your browser. There is a hamburger, what looks like a monitor, and a speaker(single icon) (that is how you select your Echo's (groups) or your PC's speakers. And a volume slider that adjusts the volume on the devices you are playing on.

Spotify has a stand-alone app for PC desktops (helps me from closing my Spotify tab on accident) https://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/ I've used it in the past but forgot about it. I just re-installed it. Nevermind, it is what I have been using, but I reinstalled it anyway. lol :emolaugh:.

It does have advertisements just like Spotify does, as it is Spotify.

IheartRadeo, another Alexa enabled app doesn't integrate with Alexa like Spotify, you have to ask Alexa directly ~ then you get a radio station of that artist and others in the same genre.

foxgrove

Nice option!!  I'm often on Spotify listening to music so that would be pretty sweet!  Does it have to be a pro account or does it just play the adds for us poor folk as well?

I have a free Spotify acct. That is why I get the ads and can't play a specific song on Alexa without using the app or Browser listings (within Spotify). I use Chrome, but I'm guessing any browser will work, Windows, Android, or apple that can display a web page. It requires a little more micro-management. I am trying to listen to an album right now, but it will only play the one song I click for, then the next shuggles to another song on the album. Still trying to figure this out because the rules keep changing on me. First shuffle is on and can't be turned off, then it is off!!?!?
