Love those tesla coils... you'll notice the operator is very careful not to move.  Were he to step off that plate, he's be so much fried chicken!

Love em! If I get a chance inthe next few hours, I'll throw my today's list on here as well... Barberian, I have often wanted to say thank you for this thread but really haven't been vocal enough. It's been such a blessing to me. Thank you, my brother.  :bighug:

This isn't exactly a song, as much as a backstory of how it was written. I'm sharing it on FB also, but I thought about this thread first

Pretty cool, huh. Gotta crow a wee bit 'cause those are my home town boys. Winnipeg is one crazy music scene.

The story I've heard from the lion's mouth is that the guys were down in Missassauga, Ontario playing a gig at a curling club and Randy (Bachman) broke an E string on his guitar near the end of a song. Back then, there were no backup guitars to grab so the concert went into a pause while he fixed it up. To tune it, he played two notes on the piano, an E and an B. As he tuned it up, this little riff was suddenly born and suddenly he's standing on stage playing this riff... Gary Peterson (drummer) gets into it, jumps up on stage and starts playing his drums to the riff... Jim Kale hears it, grabs his bass and starts jamming. Finally Burton walks out on stage and grabs his mic, a wee bit late to the party, and Randy mouths "just sing something" to Burton and lyrics start pouring out of him and American Woman was born.

The part about the bootlegger was totally hilarious. Trying to convince this kid that he didn't have anything but they really needed his tape, like right now! What a hoot.
