Quote from: foxgrove on February 20, 2023, 04:45:29 PM...personally, I'm putting my money on the cat!
I got a cat one time, she was about a year old at the time. A friend of mine told me about her, she knew I would take the cat in. The owners were going to have her put to sleep the next day because they were tired of changing the litter box. So she went and picked the cat up at 1 am. I had her about 6 months, and I already knew we were too close. Neither of us had to say a word (not that she talked, but you know what I mean), all we had to do is look at each other and we knew what the other was thinking.

One night another friend came over and brought their new puppy for me to see. Roxanne (yes the red light), stayed in the other room, but kept peeking in from time to time. One time when she peeked, she saw me holding the puppy, and  petting it. She let out the horrible growl, I knew I was in trouble. After I went to bed, she got on the counters, and tables, and knocked off everything up there, she even jumped up the walls and knocked down pictures. I just laid there and waited, finally she got quiet, and I went to sleep. I woke up  about two hours later, when I rolled over and she left a trail of p*ss, and s**t from my ankles to my head, and it had gotten cold. I immediately tried to figure out how I was going to kill her in the slowest most painful way possible. Then I just busted out laughing, and said "Damn she is one h*ll of a B***h, not even I'm that vindictive. We got along good for the next 12 or 13 years.

That was when I had once certain group that would knock on my door at 8 am every morning, when I didn't get home from work and go bed until 6 am. Then as always it took me a good hour to go to sleep. So after a bout a week, I answered the door in my bathrobe, not tied, I was just holding it shut. I screamed "WHAT"? Right as they started to talk, I let the robe open, and not only was I naked underneath, I was let's say excited. As their eyes got the size of saucers, I said "I don't have time for this, I'm about to sacrifice the cat". As soon as I said that, good ol' Roxanne, screamed at the top of her lungs, and ran to the back of the house. They took two big steps backward, fell back off the porch, and landed flat of their backs, they were in such a hurry to get away, they kept slipping down, every time they thought they had their footing, it just went wild. After that day, they would get the house on my left, cross the street, walk past my  house, and cross back over, and get the house on the right of me. Roxanne got an extra treat, and extra catnip that morning, and you could see the grin on her face.

I had explained to them about my work schedule and sleeping habits, I had put up signs "no solicitation". I had got tired of being polite, and had gotten rude with them, nothing worked. Not until that Friday, which also happened to be the 13th. She passed from feline leukemia in about 2004, I still miss her, she was almost human in her actions. She understood more than any other animal I've ever had, and made deliberate actions that most animals aren't capable of.

GREAT/b]story Robby !!!!!

Had me laughing at some stupid friends that thought the could get away with anything.  At least the cat cooperated for that one time.

I didn't even know she was in the living room, so it made me jump too. But that was her, she was always cooperating or starting the drama.
