The orthotic place where I had my braces made told me that each 'E' is 1/5 of an inch wider than 'N' normal.  So the EEEE is 4/5 of an inch wider.  That is quite a bit when you actually measure it out.  As for the shoes go, my grandson was here this evening and already took the 10s.  He thinks he will be able to wear them in a couple of months.  "Big expectations".

I switched to NB from Nike a few years back after having lower back and ankle pain when walking around ion my old Nikes.

I tried a few other brands but the NB seemed to work the best. I have a pair of 5.11 boots and a pair of bates boots that feel very good too, they also help with ankle support when pulling a "trip to the mall" with the wife.

the best ones I had for the "shopping" trips (standing around on hard tile floors and maybe a ten foot walk to do more standing) were my converse 9" tactical boots. My big male coonhound decided to pee in them I don't know why he just hated thoes shoes.

I wear dress shoes for work daily and I found the bostonian flexfit shoes fit and wear the best for a dress shoe.

And i thought i had problems with shoes.

first i wear size 14 and right there i have a problem just finding anyone that carries that size.

Then for the last 15 years i have found that i have to wear boots for ankle support. then i also have flat feet so i have to add a arch support insert. and i have to make my own insert because the only good ones are prescription and the podiatrists out there are morons and I have never got any inserts from podiatrists i could wear since i left the navy.

The arch supports i use to get OTC were ruled to be orthotic devices and the cost went from around $10 a pair to over $100 each foot.

So i make my own by modifying one of the Dr. Scholl orthotics by beefing it up for my body weight by using rubber pads that I cut and grind to fit and feel good for me.

That and i use boot that are sold under the caterpillar brand and have nice soft foam soles

I have always had problems finding shoes that fit ever since i was littel. My parents had to order special shoes for me as a baby as i had wide feet with a high arch. Problem was in bootcamp they had no arch supports and my arches caved in some. That hurt a whole lot. Everday out marching and runng and wanting to cut my feet off.

mine was the oposite, flat feet.............. had to wear forest gump braces till I was about 7. I learned how to move my big toe back to make it look like I had an arch so I could enlist.

Dr told my folks I'd never walk right and aboslutly never run.

My old man brought the first place ribbion I won for breaking the school 440 record and asked him again about how I'd never run......

Now I wish I could walk............ guess we are back at the start again.
