It hasn't been used much in the past while.  Sadly, as we are completely staffed with exhausted and physically compromised souls who donate all their time for free, finding someone who's wakeful and productive time coincides with everyone else's is incredibly hard.  The last hero who stood up and did it for a year and a bit is taking a bit of a break... or is that life is taking a break on him..

Personally, I'm not sure when the next chat session will be.  The ones I attended in the past were a hoot.. well.. we made it into a hoot anyways.

ND, I was doing scheduled chats last year and with very few exceptions I wound up sitting at my computer for an hour or two staring at the chat room screen.

The sad thing is that even with a scheduled time people have to be both available at that time and in good enough shape that day to take part.

It sounds like fun but scheduling would be the harsh part.

 @ North Dakotan -  For the reasons Zathras mentioned and others like, " I forgot about the chat room AGAIN!?!"
            The Shoutbox has become the de facto chat room. It is slow, but the replies will appear.                    And it is open 24/7/365.

Well thanks for all the replys. just noticed it was never used and did not know why. I got the chat rooms you have on the site. but just kind of read bounce around room to room. ADD sets in lol. Maybe one day I will work with one of you administrators and set up a chat room and time. I read and we all have  families, schools, or cant stay awake past 8 or 9 LOL. I see on the bottom of the site who is online. Gettting to know how to manuever. Anyways. Thanks for all the replies. I found a canadian site not sure if you can post links or not. I will send to and admin to look at you may heard of it already. Not something I am pursing.

Old Crab and I had the place open several times a week and it dwindled down to once a week and then none as no one ever came by to chat. We kept it ope for a couple of years. And since there is no audible announcement for someone coming into the chat room you have to keep the screen open all the time and watch it. Very hard to do other things while the chat room is open and empty. Especially if you have ADHD

So why not have one of our computer gurus set this section up as password protected chatroom for those who only log onto this site.?  If it is basically not being used. The other chat rooms are all over the board. THis would be equivalant to mens only section with password. Just a thought.

When you log into the chatroom you have the option of setting it so that it can only be accessed by members of our forum. I believe the how to is in the tutorial I made on how to chat. I will check if it is not then I will give y'all the instructions.

OK it did not show it but you do get to see the options tab that is clicked on. The person that opens the chatroom has to click on  the options tab and go to room settings. From there you can select it so the chatroom is only open to our members.
