Title: Happy Thanksgiving
Post by: Robby on November 23, 2016, 06:07:05 PM
I hope everyone is enjoying the time leading up to turkey day. Me, I'm hurting so bad it's pitiful. Feels like an axe is buried in my right shoulder, my left knee has large needles sticking out of it, and I can't straighten it all the way. But, I'm also in the kitchen helping Brandon cook. He can do the physical part, but I have to do the mental part (and I have fibro fog  ) Anyway happy thanksgiving. I look forward to doing all this cooking again at Christmas.

Sadly, we've had a special member of our big meal have to drop out.  My daughter's boyfriend will be able to make it but their mutual buddy from Ohio is stuck behind the coming nasty weather which is about to descend on the mid-west.  Of course, we'll all be eating extra heartily in his honor.  Awfully good idea this celebrating both Thanksgivings, Canadian and American.  Makes for extra turkey in the freezer.

Happy thanksgiving to my US family and friends.  :bighug:

Out of everything we made this is what I'm most proud of. I don't care what anyone says the meringue is NOT easy (I'm not showing the first one we did let's just say it was flat), but we NAILED it..... even if the pic doesn't show it. (btw it's chocolate)

Aren't you glad we don't have more arms and legs for the pain to get into?

It's hard to run with the turkeys when I have. to soar with eagles like you guys (and gals).  Or sumting like that.

It was as good as it looked. Everything was but the dressing, and it was the first time we made dressing so that's understandable. I can't complain about any of it. It's just the 5 of us, so no out of town family or "long time no see" family to enjoy the day with. That's both nice, because it's less stuff going on I have to put up with, the fibro fog/anxiety/confusion/etc... but I grew up with 15 or so out of town family coming in so it was a big day, I miss that.  What about you, any extended family coming over?
