Title: Options
Post by: countryboy on February 18, 2018, 04:22:21 PM
Been in the hospital 210 days as of today.  Originally due to chemo that reacted with anaphylactic shock which lead immediate into a heart attack.  I was as home and my 20 year old grandson did CPR with the assistance of 911 over the phone.  It was almost 20 minutes before the medics got there as they were all out on other calls.  I was told in the hospital that less than 3% of people who get CPR outside of the hospital survive.  This has left me with legs and hips with no response to bearing any weight.  I live in my bed or in a wheel chair.  My wife can not care for me as she couldn't lift me or even roll me over.

Mean while, the bladder cancer is slowly spreading, and the cancer Dr. could go in and cauterize the areas that are effected, but says that he thinks my heart isn't stable enough to get me through the surgery.  What a Wuss.  For the past few months my wife takes me outside twice a week and lets me smoke one cigarette.  It does seem to calm the nerves a bit but it is leaving me wanting more.  I told my heart Dr. on Friday that I was seriously thinking about using some MJ.  All he did was look at me and said that I would have to be very careful.  He them told me that my paralyzed legs were
not due to the heart attack and he thought it was pinched nerves as I have had 3 bulging discs for years.  He wants me to contact my GP and have him try to find the best Neurologist in the area that could handle the problem.  My GP is out for 2 more weeks and can't get in to see him until the last of the first week of March.

I can not go home until I can stand up, use a toilet and get in and out of bed.  I can't put that much strain on the wife as she is only 1/2 my size.  Even though I have lost 59 pounds.

What do you guys think about all of this?

:cry2:  Well.... isn't that just a handful of wet steaming cow pie!  Darned amazing that sweet Travis was able to keep you alive, regardless of his over-exuberance... broken ribs heal, death... not so much.  Interesting that your doc thinks the leg paralysis is nerve related.  Any increase in nerve pain in your lower back or just numbness?  Of course, that amount of time and the fall and everything put in the same stewing pot, it'd be a real crapshoot to make an accurate diagnosis of your legs without having gone to the specialist and run more tests.

I know what you mean about not wanting to squish your sweetheart.  There are times that my lady amazes me, I mean simply blows my mind... she can still CARRY me on her back and I'm 230lbs!!!  Of course, not every gorgeous lady comes with the strength of a farmgirl and the body of... you know what, I'm going to leave those thought off the page so as not to embarrass her.  :naughty:

I wish I had an opinion that had something other than hopes for you.  I'd say go for it on the MMJ if you can get hold of it.  If your doctor didn't say don't, I don't see why not.  Careful is likely the best way to do everything right now from getting out of bed to figuring out how to get back IN bed.

by the way... congrats on the 59lbs!  That's fabulous!!  I imagine that was a lot of "the hard way to lose pounds" so I will say well done and take it as a win whether or not you're able to keep them off.  :bighug:

Keepin you in my prayers as always.  Be well, brother.

If the cancer doc thinks the heart isn't strong enough then what the hell does he think a neurologist would do other than a bunch of testing to eat up money and then say the same thing about the heart.  Have some balls man and give the patient some mmj to try.  What is is going to hurt that it's so dangerous. ?

How do you select4 the right options?

Can't go in and talk to these guys, so I have spent some time on the phone with a couple of dozen of them.  As any one can but mmj here in Oregon, I keep getting different stories from these jokers.  All I want is some light week to smoke in pre-rolled cigs.  I'll bet I have 10 different answers.

Don't want any thing too strong, but yet I want it to cut the pain some.  My grandson son says that the guy he trusts keeps talking about a medium strength that will give you  slight buzz.  With all the meds I am taking and all the blood tests they keep running every week to 10 days, I am a little
leery about what to even try.  They keep saying that if it shows up in your blood tests you will be kicked out of here.  Can't have that until I can get
through with a neurologist which won't happen for another 3 weeks if I can get in to see one right away after my GP gets back. I really don't want
to wait too much longer.  The old head is starting to spin quite a bit lately.

Maybe the a-hole  was right and I should just let every thing take it's own course and be done with it.

Well sheeeee-it... and please excuse my rusty French... That's just not right.  It sounds like the play they're making up here.  You can but you can't but you can but you'd better not but you can but if you do you'll lose your job and insurance.  What-da-heck?  ...and to top it off, they're making it "legal-ish".  Basically, if you don't mind never visiting the States again, don't have any insurance to lose, don't have any doctors you wish to alienate, and can risk losing your job... it'll be perfectly legal come July.  What a crock of poo!!!

We have over 30 stores for Rx scripts, but over 40 for personal pleasure use.  They just have limits of amounts you can have in your possession at one time.  Haven't seen any paper articles about any offenses in over 10 months.  What is their problem?  My dentist told me that he uses a small amount of oil 3 times a week for medicinal purposes.  I would think I would fall in that category  also.      :sadhug:

Sounds like you should call and ask the dentist for a script.  Sounds like that would be easier . . . treating ongoing dental pain. !??!

CHALLENGE

Trying to pee while laying flat in a hospital bed.................
As you can imagine, trying to pee while laying flat is a very messy task.  If you are hung like a horse it might not be too bad, but for us humans, when laying flat, little Johnny sticks up and is hard to get into a urinal without making a wet mess.  I have to start the flow and as quick as I can, I raise the bed into a sitting position.  Then I can aim the stream (what is left) into the urinal or thereabouts.

It does get a little embarrassing when the front of the sheet or gown is wet and soggy, but what else can you do.  If you can't stand, your hopes of hitting the hole in the urinal is almost impossible unless little Johnny is 10 to 12 inches long.  Usually not enough time to call an aide and ask for help guiding things in the right direction.  Also a little bit of an awkward feeling with a 19 or 20 year old young girl holding onto little Johnny with a big smile on her face.

Oh what to do????????  Too old to get any feelings except in the head!!!!!!!!!!   old-man/cane

Can you get on your side ?   Otherwise maybe they can get you a measuring cup from the kitchen the kind with a pour spout.

Will gave to contemplate that one for ideas.  Just when you think it couldn't get worse.  :emobadmod:

I guess I shouldn't sas the "C" word.
It does seem like they'd have better options.
I guess they are not the ones cleaning it up either. :emorant:
Well, you got a better way to get a pretty young nurse to hold your willie? :lmao:
Don't answer that. Stupid,I just couldn't help myself.

 Well, brother...  don't know that I'd be doing any better and possibly even worse... I've never been one to have worries that a condom wouldn't fit.  :dunno:  Oh well... at least I don't have to hang on to a street sign as blood rushes away from my head every time I get an erection.  :lmao:

As for aim... I think we're all in a heap of trouble if we end up flat on our backs.  Truly, that's the next step down from having to sit every time you go, which is where I'm at.  Not a long distance between there and aiming at a thundermug.

Kind of hard keeping your mind on concentrating on hitting the hole of the urinal when that warm little hand is wrapped around your willie  :yikes:

Oh well, I guess that's what they get paid for  :clapping:   Now if that were my daughter, I would come up swinging.   old-man/cane

Kitchen measuring cups with spouts?      Have you seen the size of those spouts?     Couldn't even get my little finger in it, so I can't imagine what kind of damage I would have trying to use one of those.       Oh well, guess any port in a storm as they say.

OK... if you have to go bigger than 4 cups at a time, we need to have a little chat about waiting WAY too long!!!  :lmao:  But I know the ones you mean ron.  I gotta say, though, it's still going to be a whole lot easier than if you were a lady!   ;)

I saw this the other day and thought of your plight...

It's a "YUMSUM Unisex Female or Male Bed Urinal Universal Potty Pee Bottle " on Amazon... just thought the hose might be handier.  So, while it doesn't have as warm a touch, I'm fairly sure it would be less embarrasing in the end. :great:

Be well, brother.  Don't stop laughing.   :budy:

Should have guesses that it would be a Kanuck that would find something like a YUMSUM Unisex Bed Urinal.

A friend of mine who is 75 and has fibro, has his wife get a paste of some sort from a medical dispensary that has a lot of MJ ingredients in it and has
his wife rub it into his neck and shoulders at night.  He says that he has done this for the last 2 weeks and he has been able to sleep all night long for the last few days.

It takes an RX to get it and it is quite expensive, but he feels better than he has for the last few years.  Certainly is something to think about, but I doubt if I could get enough to take a total body massage with it.  He swears it is the only thing he has found so far that helps with the constant pain.  Now I just have to get an RX somewhere.  My GP doesn't want any MJ found in my blood tests that they are taking every 2 weeks for the bladder cancer.  About to say screw that for a while and give it a try.  Have access to some cigs. but a little nervous about trying those.  Feels like being between a rock and a hard place.     :emowall:

I got a free sample roll on type dispenser that my wife swears by. I think they went for $30.
Really not bad for as long as it's lasted her.
I would use that stuff pretty quickly if I was using it to get the THC I get from smoking a bowl.

In this place (the hole from hell as we call it) if they smell weed, the do a search of your entire room.  If it is found, you are kicked out and have to find someplace else to stay.  Those places are hard to find with no insurance.    old-man/cane   A couple of these guys are like blood hounds when it comes to finding things.      buttkick

Wow!!!  Not very welcoming to the stuff are they. That's a bit harsh considering you live in a legal state for folks over 21. :yikes:  What.. you got some former DEA agent who's now the head of security?  That's crazy!  :insane:

Lets start at the top. Using weed for medicinal purposes should not be an issue with your treatments especially if you get a script for it. That would just open them up for a lawsuit, they don't want that. Your local dispensary will tell you who to see about a script for it. To just manage pain you want something that is high in CBD's and low THC. That is once you out of there. If not, you can get like you said a cream or oil to rub on or some edibles. You would be surprised at what you can get today. No smell, no bloodhound.

I use it to ease my pain and to help me sleep. Especially sleep. I go to the VA Hospital and get my meds from them. Since they are a federally run facility they can not condone it's use, unless you get cleared by mental health, just to prove your not an addict. So been there done that, still smoking. No script though at least not from them and not officially approved but nobody is saying anything since mental health cleared me.  old-man/cane

That's the question.
