Hi everybody I got my blood test results today the doctor said I had very high elevated CK levels . what does this mean , does it have anything to do with fibro ? I didn't get to talk to the doctor she just left my a voice message . I will appreciate any help . Thank you
Ok, here is a link to a National Institute of Health website on CK levels, I just did a quick Google for "Blood CK Levels". One interesting quote is---
"When the total CPK level is very high, it usually means there has been injury or stress to muscle tissue, the heart, or the brain.
Muscle tissue injury is most likely. When a muscle is damaged, CPK leaks into the bloodstream. Determining which specific form of CPK is high helps doctors determine which tissue has been damaged.

Diagnose heart attack
Evaluate cause of chest pain

I went back and changed the color of the line that fibro would fall under.

I've not heard of CK marker being elevate for our condition. Allot of us also have chronic myofascial pain which is a separate condition that affects the muscle but CK is also not an indicator. old-man/cane.
Not to say you don't have fibro but it seems there is something else going on :LOL:

I also have an elevated CK. They ran NCV and EMD tests, MRI and muscle biopsy. Found no signs of inflammatory myopathy or denervation issues. It's still elevated at 600 plus. There is research that suggests some of the population has larger CK molecules which show up in the lab as a higher concentration. Either way getting checked is important. They gave up trying to figure out my CK and now I just get it drawn to make sure it's not going up.
I have so many weird symptoms and test results.
They told me I am a medical anomality. :biggrin:
