So my Primary Care Provider wants me to seriously think about having her push the paperwork but i'm affraid I'll lose all my benefits and alot of my pay!

My wife doesn't work because she has MS and she is STILL fighting social security for disability.

So any suggestions?

I dont know about this system but check with the organization they should ahve in writing wether it will effect you make sure they get you a copy.

Go and see a disability lawyer. That is the only reason I ever got approved. They do not get paid till you get paid and it comes out of your back pay and the court sets the amount that they get.

I guess it comes down to a self evaluation...  Can you still perform your tasks as you were hired to do?  If not, something has to give..  Because it's a disability issue, you need to look at whether there are reasonable accomodations that your employer can make to adapt to your current condition.  If that isn't going to work then you need to look either changing jobs to something that you are still able to do or, in the case where you are now unable to hold any job, move yourself to a more permanent disability.

In the end it comes down to a severe reality check.. how bad is it.. can you still work.. can you do anything to make work possible.. If you can no longer work, it's time to look at your disability income options.

Trust me.. we're a one income family and I was the bread winner..  Now we're a disability income family.  It did mean a huge cut in pay.. it's meant that whatever we have now goes into surviving.. It takes time and it'll be a time of grieving for you but we're here brother.  We understand what it's like to go through this.

You and your sweet lady are in our thoughts and prayers.  I can't fathom why social security would be disputing an MS disability but we understand the frustration of being denied.. most of us multiple times for no apparent reason at all.  Lean on us when you need to.. that's why we're here.

Where God leads, His hand always provides keep Calm and code on....

How long has she been fighting Social Security? Almost 70% of people are initially denied hearing stage. It takes almost 1.5 years for most people to be approved. Reason being, your best chance of being approved is at the hearing stage and it takes more than a year to have a hearing scheduled in most states.

Here is more info on the disability application process:

So, don't be discouraged if you are not initially approved for disability.

GrOuNd_ZeRo I was wondering if your PCM has put you in for an MEB or not.  I was just told a couple of weeks ago that I will be put in for MEB.  Just curious as to how your is progressing.
