Not real sure where this goes, so feel free to move it, I will be grateful.

Just wanted to mention (I think I have but I'm not sure), anyone on SSDI that has a dependent under 18 y/o, can apply for a dependent check for that child (child, step-child, legal custody). The check will be one-half the amount of the parents check. This is in addition to the spousal benefit (which I'm not sure the rules of).

Just some information that might help someone financially, and if your on SSDI you need all the help you can get.

The same goes here in Canada, except the spouse's benefits... wish we had those too... would REALLY come in handy!  In any case, if you have managed to survive the awful journey that is our CPP Disability... (incredibly hard to do since 2013!!!) there is income available to your children up until they turn 18 or up to 25 as long as they remain full time in school.
